Early run back to base 🏃‍♂️

Another 05:15 start. Let the guys sleep in a little and slipped the boat myself. Stunning leaving the bag so early in the morning. ACI Split Marina is very tight but all Went well with the now very competent and trained up crew! ☺️👬👬

Sailing all the way to Ringos!

Beautiful sail. ⛵️ Anchor practice for the team ⚓️ Beautiful fish from Ringos. Formula is simple….. €77 a kg any fish. We picked Sea Robin. Never heard of it before but it has wings and also legs it uses to crawl on the bottom of the sea. It was wonderful 😋. Also discovered half a used lemon is perfect for playing catch. Smells good, nice and soft to catch, perfect weight for throwing 😁🍋

Scedro - Little island paradise 🐟🏝️

Easy downwind sail to my favourite place in Croatia. Scedro a small island with only a couple of bays a real paradise. Fresh tuna steaks, watched Spain vs France and 1/2 a day messing around in the water. Lush. 🥰

Vis Tour - 🛵🏝️🍷🐙🎥🎞️

No sailing but an early motor to Vis. Wanted to get on the Kut harbour wall which we did when the first person left 😁. Followed by my favourite tour of Vis: - 🛵 Get scooters - 🍦Ride through the beautiful landscape, view points and windy roads to Komiza for a swim and an ice cream. - 🏝️Back on the scooters, the windy roads and stunning views to visit Stivinia a bit of a tourist hot spot but a cool little cove to swim in. - 🍷Off to Roki’s vineyard for the most wonderful octopus Peka ordered 6 hours in advance and cooked over fire. - 🤩 An amazing thoughtful and kind surprise from Chris (co-founder SailTies) who ordered a Carob cake and bottle of Rokis sparkling to the table to celebrate 10k sailors using SailTies! - 🤿 Off to tour the south of the island to see WW2 Submarine storage - 🎥🎞️ The cinema! Been wanting to watch a film from Vis’s open air cinema for a while! And finally managed to do so with Bad Boys Ride or Die 😂 What a day!

Tacking practice to Fisherman’s.

Today was tacking practice. Well - Keeping a course practice as we have a self tacker 🙈😭😂. Spent a lazy afternoon in the bay messing around with the SUP, 🤿 and Dinghy. Some good hip hop and sunshine 🎶☀️. Water is lovely and warm too 🥰. Went to Fisherman’s for tea 🐟. Outstanding Sea Bass and some lovely homemade butter orange grappa!

40th Celebration - First Day - Sailing School

Out celebrating with my school friends turning 40 in Croatia 🥰. Fun to be the most experienced on board teaching everyone from scratch and seeing the world of sailing through new eyes. Happy to see they are all enjoying it 🥰. We checked in (Super smooth with Fairwind). Headed out at 14:30. Got the sails up straight away, did some reefing, did some tracking. Realised we would not make our bay until late so packed it all down and setup the football 😅 It was 0-0 when we arrived at the bay and lost phone signal. Went swimming in the beautiful warm water. Got a hint of signal and found out it was penalties. After a wonderful meal at Lonely Paradose a restaurant overlooking the bay only accessible by boat or foot, we asked them for their WiFi password on their network “dotoureallyneedwifi” 😅. E gland are through! Semi finals in Hvar it is then 😁. Off for a sail a swim and another restaurant buoy tomorrow on Parmizana ☺️

Sunrise slip back to Nisos Base

Early start this morning, had to be back at 8:30 and off the boat by 9. It was a bumpy evening as the wind was coming into the bay and while we were worried about a repeat of Türkiye, we had learned from our past mistakes and made sure that we had plenty of anchor out. We dropped 75m in ~15m of depth and it held us in place just great. It was a little slack, but we didn’t want to attempt to tighten it up at the risk of disturbing it. The evening consisted of a tour of the bay in Kevin, some swimming, a nice onboard meal, pre-packing and some stargazing. Up at 6:45, prepped for departure. I hopped in the dinghy and pulled myself to shore to release the long lines. We slipped off and came out the bay just in time to see the sun rise from behind the mountains. There was some light wind so we got the sails out for one last time and had a nice moment of tranquility with the engine off. Once the wind changed direction we motored our way in. Arrived at 8:16, got the boat back into base nice and quickly and were off by 8:36. And that’s the end of a great trip. I can’t wait for the next one!
