Early start to get through under the bridge in Calais at 0445. Five Westerly boats, Aeolus, Bootlegger, Sparky, Kalessin and Whisperer made their way East to get to Blankenberge for the East Coast Summer Cruise muster tomorrow. Thaïs joined a little later.

Hairy passage with up to 30knots wind over tide most of the passage. Reefed Genoa only but still hitting speeds of over 10 knots at times. Entry into Brighton pretty awful with wind hitting 30knots and only LW+2 but all OK. The large G&T afterwards was most welcome.

Sadly no wind again and what little there was was not from the right ditection. At least we gave the engine a good test.
