Hello from Tom and Chris, two UK sailors / Software Engineers & Product Designers 👋. We are the co-founders of SailTies.
Our Mission: Get More People Sailing ⛵️
In a world full of digital distractions, we believe sailing is a great way to appreciate the beauty of nature and enjoy meaningful experiences with other people.
How: Make it really easy to record your sailing adventures.
Why: To inspire new sailors to join the world of sailing and make it easier for you to get out on the water when chartering, crewing or looking for the next way to build your skills.

Sailing for us is a time to connect with nature, develop a stronger respect for our oceans and have meaningful experiences with other people.
So we have designed SailTies to give you value when you are off the water and to find more opportunities to get on a boat!
Our Story
We met in 2018 working on a recipe sharing app and quickly discovered a shared passion for the ocean, in particular sailing.
Whilst sailing we found there was no modern way to capture and share our adventures.
Solving it Ourselves 👷♂️👨🎨
Our paper logbooks were uninspiring, unshareable and a pain to keep up to date.
Surprisingly there wasn't a digital version, so we decided to create one ourselves!
Launch and Leaving our Jobs 🚀
We built SailTies during lockdown and launched in 2021. Within weeks 1,000 people had signed up to our beta version.
Motivated and inspired, we left our jobs on January 1st 2022 and started working full time on SailTies.
A lot has happened since then. We built the free iOS and Android apps, developed partnerships with some amazing boating organisations and have just launched SailTies Plus - our subscription service!
