Conference is a small village situated on the northeastern coast of Grenada, known for its picturesque landscapes and tranquil ambiance. The village's name is believed to have originated from historical conferences that took place between plantation owners in the area, in an era now long gone.
 The small island opposite the village is likewise called Conference Island.

Also interesting is the repeated use of "Telescope" for the nearby village, the point, the rock just offshore and then the jewel, Telescope beach. The name suggests another interesting story which I was unfortunately unable to unearth...
