Last day of Sailing for this week, back to Hamble from Cowes in a F5 from E/SE and fine weather. In the afternoon by bus to Southampton for the SeaCity Museum with its Titanic exhibition.

Early start at 7 am to catch the tide from Yarmouth to Cowes beating to windward in a Force 5. Great sailing in the Sun. Overnight at Shepards Marina in Cowes.

From Buckler’s Hard to Yarmouth with a stopover at Anchor in the peaceful Newtown River for a Lunch. Mostly Sunny with SE F3. Great Open Top bus ride in the late afternoon out to Freshwater Bay, Alum Bay and Needles Battery. Great View on the Western Entrance to the Solent.

From Hamble to Buckler’s Hard close-reaching in F3/4. Sunny weather with short rain shower just before arriving at Buckler’s Hard. Beautiful Pilotage into Beaulieu River. In the afternoon walk along the river through ancient forest to beautiful village Beaulieu.

Boat handling in River Hamble (therefore the long duration and low average speed of the voyage) before midday then towards Portsmouth in beautiful weather. Overnight in Gunwharf Quays Marina
