Day 3: Poole Harbour to Newtown Creek (Isle of Wight)

An early start to make the most of the flood tide. Tricky conditions. Sailed a deep broad reach from Poole to the Isle of Wight with the help of a preventer and poled out Genoa. Gybed up the Needles Channel and southern part of the Solent before anchoring at Newtown Creek for a late lunch

Day 2: Weymouth to Poole

A beautiful down wind sail. A couple of hours playing around MOB under sail and blind nav drills in Weymouth Bay. Followed by a fantastic downwind sail round St Albans Head with winds up to 24knots and quite a bit of swell. We then anchored in Studland Bay for dinner before completing a night pilotage into Poole Marina.

Day 1: Shamrock Quay Marina to Weymouth

S/W F4/5 - the wind was on the nose initially so motor-sailed down Southampton Water and into the Solent. Once we passed the Needles we had a lovely sail on a close reach with the occasional tack all the way to Durlston Head. Lots of fun practicing using the tell-tales on the Genoa to keep as tight as possible to the wind. Before a final stretch motor-sailing into Weymouth before mooring on a busy quay just as all the dingys returned from their evening race.
