How can it get any better!? Sailing on the leeward side of the Antigua is so pleasant. We waited until the winds picked up as they do around 1230hrs. Then headed out for our last sailabout of our 2 week charter on the Dufour 390GL "Rothko". It's so interesting how there is a definite invisible "boundary" line between now swels just waves and swells and waves! It's great practice to get used to a boat OR get used to sailing in these conditions for longer passages. You can always turn back when you've had enough! And our return track was almost exactly on our outbound track!! 20.5 kts of wind was the max. 15 was avg We consistently saw 7.3 SOG. Fantastic!! Full Mainsail. Full headsail which is a 100% self tacking jib.

Gorgeous day!! Beautiful seas, sunny breezy, warm! Gusts to 21 kts and steady 13-15 kts from the East. We took a long morning then sail about then anchored for our favorite Oxtail from Aunt Cavell's off our favorite beach, Darkwood Beach, Antigua. We anchored close enough to swim to shore.

We had some beautiful seas, and fickle winds due to a few showers passing to the North of us. We did reef the main just before one of the squalls passed. It didn't last long but we felt more steady. We saw a top SOG of 7.8 kts when in a starboard broad reach. We sailed past our final destination because we were having such a nice sail! Anchored in 2.6 M in sand.

Dead Calm. 80 degrees F. Sliver moon setting over Boulder City. Meredith and me. Mike joined on his power boat. We rafted up and enjoyed fried chicken and coleslaw. Engine had a lot of "noises" and the throttle cable may be stretched.

We motored north to meet the slack tide through Dodds Narrows. We were there slightly early but the current was in our favor and not too strong. After sailing a bit off of Nanaimo, we moored up to the Dinghy Dock Pub on Protection Island. This is a great spot to bask in the sun and to relax.
