Johnson Cay was far too rolly and so we departed without exploring it. 20-24 knot winds on the beam. Down wind 1st and we jived a couple times which was violent. We got out of the rolling rough waves 3-4 ft once we turned north with wind on the beam. Waves were 1 ft and comfortable. Top speed 10 knots with a reef in the main.

9-18 knot true winds. Up to 24 knots apparent wind close hauled. Waves 3-6 ft. We motored for 1st half of day on the way to Anguilla Cay at 9 knots upwind. Wind began to pick up and decided to bypass the cay which changed our heading enough to sail. Arrived in the ragged islands at 4:30 am in pitch dark with one other boat anchored.

Cay Sal to Hog Cay, Bahamas
9-11 knots true wind on the beam and up to 13 apparent wind close reach. Winds form NE and waves 2-4 ft. Crossed the Gulf Stream and shipping lanes where up to 3 knots of current coming from the side was observed. Motor sailed averaging 6 knots starting at 4:45 am and arrived shortly before 5pm. Several medium to large fish were seen swimming under the boat upon anchoring.

18-20 knot true wind with 3.5 ft waves. Up to 27 knot apparent wind close hauled with motor support. There was a small craft advisory with winds from NE albeit we were somewhat protected by the keys from that direction. We motor sailed with 1 reef and 75% jib. Chasing Summer, another 40 ft Lagoon also motor sailed in the same path. They hailed us to say hi. We met Stan and Tracy on their Manta 40 and went to dinner after mooring.
