I love sailing, and I’m looking to do more of it. Not a boat owner at the moment. I have owned two small monohull boats, a Hobie One and a Sunfish, which I kept on a lake. Sold them about five years ago. Now looking to stretch into something bigger. It’s just me and my aging dogs so I’ve got more time to devote to this passion. Focused on the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries and the Caribbean.

Star date 08082025. Fantastic weather. Great Goldilocks temperatures. Never too hot nor cold. Slightly overcast skies with 16 to 19 knot winds. Water a tad choppy due to the system off the coast that was moving away from us. Made for some very fun sailing. Proud to be a crew member of the intrepid Argo 3!

Final day. Picked Dan up with a reverse docking procedure. Then practiced “wrong side” docking. All in all a nice quick morning.

Our final sail of the class. Did it without the instructor! Execute a man overboard drill. Dropped anchor and went for a swim. Then raised anchor and headed back home to harbor near the Pink Shell hotel. Hooked a mooring ball at the end.

Sailed in light wind conditions in the morning. Made our way to the lighthouse for lunch and were treated to a squall right before anchoring. Caught some rainfall while we were eating lunch. Grilled out some great burgers. Then made our way back to the marina near the Pink Shell Resort, dodging thunderstorms along the way.

Great conditions. Beautiful weather. We practiced some man overboards and learned how to drop anchor today. The channel was pretty narrow at times.

Conditions were wonderful. Winds were 6-8 knots. Mostly sunny. Learned how to tack and jibe and dock the boat into a very narrow slip. Sailed the pink Shell Fort Meyers Beach to Tarpon Point Westin Marina
