Dungarvan, Ireland
I'm living in Dungarvan (Ireland). I've sailed for over 40 years in dinghies from Lasers, Fireballs, 505, Albacore, GP14 and Finn to yachts like the J24, Hunter 707, X99, J39, IMX38, Hunter 36, Half Tonner, and Beneteau Oceanis 411. I currently own a Caravella 25 yacht named Costa Bomba. I've raced at all levels from club, nationals, europeans, world championships, JOG, and RORC. These days I combine race participation with cruising and delivery voyages!

Penn ar Ruguel, France to Hugh Town, United Kingdom
Planned passage from Cobh to Dungarvan. SSE F4 - F5 increasing to F6. Grey skies. Began raining around 12pm. Short period waves 2m - 3m. Wind against tide. Pretty bumpy ride. Once outside Cork Harbour set genoa, but then experienced engine trouble. Suspected dirty fuel. Due to conditions decided to return to RCYC berth and evaluate. Sailed under genoa only to mouth of Owenbue river, then gently motored to berth. Once on the berth, confirmed fuel issue and cancelled passage.
