Surprisingly rolly! Gentle but persistent swell coming in from the Med. Great fun to motor down past Monaco and see it all from the water. Beautifully sunny day. Anchored just off Menton beach for a bit of rocking lunch!

Second leg of our first passage on ‘Calsara’, leaving Fowey at about 7am heading to Plymouth. Virtually no wind this morning, so we motor-sailed the whole way. Lovely calm water though, and a bright morning so it was very peaceful. Game Rame Head NCI a call up on the way past to say hello and do a radio and AIS check (use NCI not the coastguard for radio checks, people!), and then calmly into Plymouth Sound and on to our new berth at Queen Anne’s Battery Marina. Finished off with some pre-cooked Spaghetti Bolognaise for lunch in the berth! 🍝

Maiden voyage on new (to me) Moody 336 ‘Calsara’! Forecast couldn’t decide whether we’d see 0.5m swell or 2m+, but we decided to risk it and luckily it was the lower end. Very pleasant (and fast 😍) sail from Falmouth to Fowey, where we stopped off on the mid-river visitor’s pontoon. Hopped ashore for a quick bite to eat using the water taxi, which was on the pricier side at £6 return pp (or am I out of touch?).
