Course 23 today - up to grain hard and back, with a double loop back between grain hard and q’boro spit. A steady 20kts for virtually the whole race, with regular gusts to 25kts. Full sail down the river, and then 1st reef in main and a few turns on the Genoa for the beat back up the river. Pushed Calsara hard but she did well! Course 01 today - another really good course choice for the conditions. Everything from hard beats to a bit of goose winging! Short-handed today - so a lot of physical work for Richard on the sheets. A nerve-wracking moment as we all bunched up around the Darnett Ness PHB and wondering if I’d a bit of a novice error…. An exciting final quarter of the race where Hotspur skillfully took our place and we then did everything we could to try and close the gap again!
