Second day with Monique on Galveston Bay practicing tacks and jibes. Winds started light but built to 15-17 knots. Both mainsail and jib out. I could see if winds were higher would need to start reefing.

Very nice 15-knots light chop. Only pulled out main sail. Good practice at helm for Monique. Started log approximately half way into sail. Stopped at Kemah Boardwalk on way back in for dinner.

Warm day with cool wind from the south. Winds started light 3-4 knots and built to 15-16 knots at Clear Lake channel. Motor sailed the entire way using “west route”. Ran aground on shallow spot on ICW just east of barge beach dolphin mooring. Easy reverse to get out of sand bottom. Boat was rocky and squirrelly with waves from behind.
