Leg 2 after a very short pit stop in St Mawes, non stop motor sail back to a freezing 🥶 Port Solent. Instagram sv_wavedancer

We left Conwy Marina Sunday 4th December @ 1830, couple of hours to a buoy just before the Menai Bridge before navigating the infamous ‘Swellies’ in darkness ( 1st time through for any of us 😱) @ 0630 the following morning. Non stop then to St Mawes for a 5 hr ‘pit stop’ for engine checks / fuel can top up then off again for leg 2 towards Portsmouth. Instagram sv_wavedancer

Took dad out for a day sail to Chichester harbour, lunch ( dodgy sandwiches) @ East Head then back to Port Solent. He loved it and I got him back alive, so a good day all round 👍 ⛵️

Return trip from Cherbourg back to Portsmouth was a fast downwind sail, 12 hours with the pole up goose winging and surfing ! Managed 10.3kts SOG somewhere, must have been down the front of a wave…

Our 1st ever night sail and Channel Crossing, half great sailing, the other half slow and seeking never ending motoring to windward. 90 mins longer than planned but still there in time for coffee and croissants 🥐

Return trip back to Port Solent, easy Genoa only sail back. Sunscreen yesterday, Woolly hats today, just love British weather 🇬🇧 #seasonstart

A quick nip over to Cowes for the night 👍 ⛵️ Stayed in East Cowes Marina, very good, not to mention the Lifeboat pub within 20m !🤣🍺🍷 #seasonstart

Return trip from Bucklers Hard Marina pack to Port Solent this morning. Gave up on the tacking when the tide turned against us. Dropped the sails and motored the last bit back in. Made a nice change 👍⛵️ 🛥🛥🛥 #seasonstart

A windier and wetter ‘cruise’ than I had promised Louisa but a great sail. Managed 9 knots (SOG) with some helpful tide 👍⛵️💨🌧 #seasonstart

Departed Port Solent ( Portsmouth) @ 0600 arrived back @ 1800 All went well apart from arriving an hour too early @ the Needles channel and had to endure a mildly unpleasant sea state for over an hour to get through into the Solent. Wasn’t a surprise and will drop the anchor and wait next time ! All good though 👍⛵️⛵️ #seasonstart
