134NM sailed. 18:45 - 06:45 night sail. 07:48 departure - 108nm rhumb to travel. Tides / currents brutal. After 6 hours only 25nm achieved. Wind on nose. 18:30 Carrier pigeon arrived Suasage stew at 20:15. JKE COB until 23:30 JE COB 23:30 - 02:30 JKE COB 02:30 - 04:30 (JE up at 03:30 to drop to second reef - blowing 20-25, gusting 28). JKE JE COB 04:30 - 06:30; wind and sea state made for challenging helming. JE COB 06:30 - 08:00 JKE smoked salmon + egg. Egg went on floor during high gust 10:45 arrival to chapel rocks 13:40 arrival to neyland. Just missed LW14:42 Moored until 1600. Touched bar. Reversed off. 16:20 reattempted. Scraped over bar, touched second bar into berth. Eventually docked at 16:40.

0.5nm Departed st Mary’s via NW channel, skirted due north around Samson and Bryher. Dropped into channel b/n fresco and bryher. Picked up buoy at 11:15. Change plans; had planned st Agnes for overnight, but temptation of buoy and life music at the new inn hotel too alluring. Tresco gardens. Tide fully out - 6m range. Had to tie dinghy to allow for full height of tidal range. Back to boat. Restaurant. Best crumble ever eaten in restaurant. Apple stewed / puree plus pieces of apple and berries through in at end. and berry crumble ever. Individual ramekins. Waited for live band - listened to warm up and then back to boat.

20nm. E 3-4 g5 Failed 2x to get onto St Martins; low tides prevent clear passage to lower town or great English island neck bay. Abandoned and headed for st Mary’s. Entry into st Mary’s gentle, navigated by cardinals - transit into harbour, picked up mooring buoy in st Mary’s pool just inshore of the RNLB Walked the town - ate onshore at ‘on the quay’. Good fish.
