Sunny, wind 5-10 knots

Tuesday night time trial Approximately 10 knots of wind, lots of sun, small seas, ran wing on wing most of the way and beat Mabuhay to the mark.

Downwind sail from Clam Bay to Nanaimo through Dodd Narrows. 10 knots of wind, made around 4 knots most of the way on a broad reach. Peeked into Pylades channel, encounter 20 or so knots and threw in a reef. Had to dodge many logs, made our way back out of Ruxston Passage quickly

Easterlies pushed us in the wrong direction for all day. We tacked a few times but couldn’t make any progress. Motor sailed to Porlier Pass, fighting a strong flood the whole way.

Light winds, rain at the dock, cleared up once we got the sails up

First Thursday night sail of the year, good wind except for the wind shadow behind Gabriola. SAR was out flying a grid looking for something, as well as the coast guard air cushion vessel

Saw a few whales, watched them for a while. Think grey whales? Really cool. Lesson-when releasing the job sheets off of winch, pull up off the winch. Lesson-the lever for the motor is not the choke but the a way to throttle in neutral.
