Laura Cove to Ellis Creek, Canada

Mabuhay
Catalina 28 Mkii
Another beautiful sunny day in Desolation Sound. Motored down to Refuge Cove for ice and ice cream. Left a bag of trash with Garbage Dave. Continued to Teakerne Arm, no sailing was had. Tried to anchor just left of the dighy dock, too deep and too poor of holding. Ended up dropping in the next bay to the east. We rowed a second anchor out in the dinghy and held nicely. Hike to a beautiful lake for a swim with waterfall views along the way.

Stopped at Refuge Cove for water, ice, to drop off garbage with Garbage Dave, and for ice cream. Perused the general store. Cute place. Easy docking at the left(looking at the store) side of the marina. Did get busier with more boats as it got closer to noon. Free 4-hour moorage. Went into Teakerne Arm. Tried a few times to anchor close to the dingy dock without success. Moved further east in a little bay that had a power boat anchored. Anchored and stern tied. Stern tie was on a tree. Dropped a second anchor with the dingy to the east to ensure we wouldn’t move. Recommend having two people in the dingy for this operation and to let it down slowly. Hiked to lake and jumped on the rocks, very fun. Perfect temperature lake.
