The RYAVery exciting first race as were the conditions. Not sure what position we came at this point but very enjoyable.

Champagne sailing for 95% of the journey. We only needed it to motor on day three for about six hours, later the wind picked up again we switched the motor off and continued to sail.

Beautiful NW /W wind 12-20 knots sailed on a broad reach. Strong winds overnight. Light winds the following day. We got the spinnaker up. Saw dolphins and pilot whales. Jumped of the boat for a quick swim. Winds died and had to motor the last six hours.

5 days and 4 nights Unbelievable sail, great skipper. S/W for 90% of the sail. Fog came in on the last day but even that couldn’t dampen our spirits.

I helmed for most of the journey 75%, S/E winds were good and we were getting water on the deck. My helming improved no end. The wind dropped for the last two hours so we motored into the marina. Getting through lock was interesting.
