Started windsurfing in the UK then had a 420 dinghy and raced on lakes near home. Started yacht sailing in the Solent both cruising and racing. Sailed Bermuda to Annapolis. Moved to New Zealand and have had motor boats, a dinghy and yachts. Have been cruising and racing in the Hauraki Gulf ever since.

Weekly Rum Race with Ponsonby Cruising Club. 4pm starts every Thursday, 4:30pm in the summer. Race is around marks in the harbour set by race committee according to wind and tide conditions. Fleet is between 5 - 10 yachts.
