13 knots NW wind. Met a ship negotiating the bends in the River at Pin Mill. Very quiet otherwise. Moored up into our berth at our home Marina

Sovereign Harbour. Eastbourne to Pin Mill

A Washing machine journey to Dover with a very moderate sea and very lumpy. Winds 20+ knots on the stern until Dover. Then on the beam. The sea state calmed a little near Ramsgate. Arrived at Pin Mill in the dark and picked up a mooring buoy

East Head, Chichester to Sovereign Harbour, Eastbourne

Left East Head in grey and very wet conditions. The weather forecast was correct and we had heavy rain with a flat sea. Approaching Beachy Head it started to dry up and the sun came out although looming black clouds. Through the locks. Refuelled at £1.50/L and into a berth and sunshine

Braye Harbour to East Head, Chichester

Left in very dense fog and had only 1 boat length of visibility all the way through Neil 2pm and nearing the IOW. Appalling conditions, but it was warm. Happy we had both Radar and AIS to show us where the ships/boats were as there was nothing to physically be seen.

St Peter Port, Guernsey to Braye Harbour, Alderney

Refuelled in St Peter Port at £0.85/Litre. The forecast was incorrect. V little wind, 6-8 knots and in the SW. There was a long low swell but Nearing the Swinge it got quite rough and choppy with a lot of choppy waves. Only 2 mooring buoys left and we picked up one. Warm but very overcast weather. We had thick fog covering St Peter Port for the last 3 days with the fog horns blaring.

St Helier Jersey to St Peter Port, Guernsey

Left our berth at 07:45 from a triple rafted St Helier. Motor sailed to Corbiere in light wind. Then boom turning the Corner from Corbiere got wind and sailing 10+ knots. Then the wind died, and it was a slow sail all the way to St Peter Port and not the weather forecasted ! Shown into an alongside berth in St Peter Port and it’s HOT HOT HOT !! 🥵

St Cast (France) to St Helier, Jersey

For the first 4 hours on leaving St Cast it was like being in a washing machine and on spin. Rough and lumpy and horrid. Wind bang on the nose too. But when we got to the Minquiers, full main and Genoa and sailed to St Helier with the sea state gradually calming nearer to Jersey. Full sun and warm

St Quay to St Cast

Left St Quay at 05:25 in the dark. Then we had dense thick fog all the way. It cleared just enough to see Cap Frehel in the murk along with dozens of Fishing boats. Loads of large clumps of thick rubbery seaweed to contend with too. Moored up but very short pontoon and no harbour master out to help.

Lezardrieux to St Quay

The plan was to go to Paimpol today. The lock at Paimpol was 07:39 which meant leaving Lezardrieux about 05:00. However, with very big Spring tides this week, the water and High tide at Lezardrieux was 07:36 and a 9.84m tide. At 05:00 hours the tide was flowing very fast up our chuff so a change of plan needed and we decided to go back to St Quay. The weather forecast was thunderstorms and rain and no wind too. So we motored back to St Quay. It was Fog and murk. A calm sea and windless with what wind there was 2-4 knots on the nose! Also humid. On the plus side we saw dolphins between Ile De Brehat and Paimpol area.

Ile De Brehat (La Chambre Anchorage) to Lezardrieux

Left in horrid conditions. Gusting 19-20 knots, raining and foggy with poor visibility. Motored all the way. Towards Lezardrieux the rain stopped and due to the protection of the River the wind died to 7 knots. No harbourmaster out, so we went onto the waiting pontoon and called him up. A Yacht was just leaving so we were able to get a berth inside.
