Kieran Dooley - Oneida Lake was great. Got a swim. Beautiful place. Now I’m at the Hudson. One more lock “Federal Lock” to go. Locked through 5 locks that each drop about 30 feet today in short distance 1.5 miles, all went easily.

Kieran Dooley - About 25 minutes after you enter the lock. Sometimes there’s a delay before it opens, not sure why. Could be faster process for people familiar and good at it. but they’re patient for me to get set up and ready. I’m getting better at it. I’m at Lick 25 now for the night and will lick through tomorrow. The fort four locks were all different and that was challenging. Now they’re all the same layout and the same rope design - better, but these verticals ropes aren’t secured at the bottom . Only at the top. Not sure why that’s how it was built. The others were attached top & bottom and more stable.

Kieran Dooley - Boat chores today I’ll kayak in tomorrow morning to take a look around. Then set off for Buffalo. That’s where I’ll pick up the Erie Canal (Tonawanda).
