Cabin John’s Creek to Worton Creek Md

Departed cabin John Creek at 7:15 AM. Arrived at Wharton Creek at 10:10 PM a.m. Journey to Maine has been concluded. Bob & Amber are fantastic great people. Not an ill thought was had much less spoken. I couldn’t ask for better group of people to have shared this experience. Solo sailing the boat to my home port from New London Connecticut was a great experience, something I have dreamed of doing for a long time. Next time, more time allotted so we can go further North into the heart of Maine Thank you to Amber and Bob for making this trip. Such a great experience. THE END , ( of this chapter).

Cape May to Cabin John’s Creek on the Chesapeake

08:00 I left Cape May the high. Once I got out, the wind was fairly strong in the south east east. Set up the gym only and reached it down to 100%. We flew for a couple of hours but then the windshield. it went up to 15 to 29 out of the north northwest as we had kidney. It was 2025 north northwest right on the news. I was tacking up through the wave using the engine engine, trying to make some headway towards Brandywine show. I knew the tide would change there and approximately 1230 to 130. At that point the tide would begin to go in my favor and hopefully the Ed Would flatten down some of the way that would be driven by the wind. Around 2 o’clock in the afternoon debated 8 to 10 not the tide caught up with me to see flattened out and it was a good run for about 45 to 50 miles all the way up at the current was still flowing through and went through the Chesapeake, Delaware, Canal and drop anchor at9:30 in John’s cabin Creek. It was a 14 hour day sailing solo, and I made 88 nautical miles. Sorry I did not send it last night, but it was dark. I was tired went to bed. Tomorrow head back to my own port of Worton Creek, Maryland

Barnegat light to Atlantic City

Departed Barnegat inlet at 0715 hours. Exited the inlet with the outgoing tide. Hit 10.1 kn. Also tag the hump about 3/4 of the way out dead center in the channel. That hump was not supposed to be there, but remember, this is Barnegat Bay. Even we’re supposed to be 40 feet deep you can hit a hump. When I got outside the inlet for about half an hour and the wind was dead behind me. That made for a very slow sale. I need to catch the tide into Atlantic City Inlet no later than 2:30 PM. I took down the jib left the main up and I was hitting mid to high 6 kn all the way Surfing down the waves 8 kn. Got into Atlantic City and anchor was down by 13:00 hours I filled up the diesel with 33 gallons, topped off my gas can for the generator, and filled the water tank, which is 45 gallons. Taking a nice break this afternoon, who knows? I might even take a nap Something I don’t do that often. The tide at Cape May Inlet has a window of between 1:00 PM and 3:30 PM for me to get in. That’s a total of 37 nautical miles. It should take me between six and seven hours to get there so it looks like an early start for me tomorrow morning depending upon the tide here at Atlantic City. I can catch the outgoing tide tomorrow from Atlantic City anytime between six and 8 o’clock, so if I leave at seven, I will get to Cape May at approximately 1 o’clock in the afternoon in time to catch the filling tide. Three different wind models show pretty much the same thing, 10 to 15 kn 10 in the morning developing to 15 in the afternoon out of the south south east. Looks like a port the entire way down!
