André Costa

André is an experienced and dedicated professional in the nautical sector, with a solid background that combines both a passion for sailing and a diverse technical education. He began his journey as a sailor at the age of seven, actively participating in the Peniche Naval Club from 2001 to 2007 and later in the Praia da Vitória Naval Club from 2009 to 2012. In addition to his involvement in sports, André also trained as a Catering Technician, specializing in Cooking and Pastry, between 2009 and 2012. With a growing passion for the sea, he obtained his Recreational Skipper License - Local Skipper in 2020, and the same year, he became a certified Class A VHF Radio Operator. His progress continued with obtaining online certifications: Skipper Level 1 and Level 2 (2021), and gaining practical experience as a Skipper and sailor part-time between 2022 and 2023. In 2021, he also became the owner of OBBI_I, his personal vessel. In 2023, he expanded his qualifications, becoming a Coastal Skipper, and the following year, in 2024, he completed his training as an Offshore Skipper and obtained the STCW certification, essential for professional sailors. Currently, he works full-time as a Skipper, applying his knowledge and skills in recreational vessel navigation, commanding a Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 379 Performance, always committed to safety and excellence at sea.
