winds north east 15 knots, maintaned between 4-6 knts

high winds and rough seas both there and back. 10-20 knots with gusts up to 25. kate and mel huggins and son jay on board. kate was skipper sailed on jib only but furler wouldnt furl so had to manually take down jib while at sea using the jib halyard. learned that sailing on the jib in high winds is favourable because there is no risk of accidental gybe because the main sail is not used. saw whales off bow upon return i was at the helm during 25 knot gusts and had the boat up to 8 knts! No main!!!
