winds ne 15-20 tapering off to light at sunset. got up to 7.5 knts and at the helm most of the night.

Shaft Point to Brechin Point, Canada
big push day 2 - overcast and threatening rain but we missed it. I cast us off @730am and got back to Nanaimo at 1730. sailed for 1 hr with NE winds but it died down and we motored sailed mostly home. 1 hr stints at the helm. Another hump back sighting first thing while I was at the helm directly. 2 swam beside the boat then headed south.

Deep Bay to Tyne Point, Canada
push day 1 - long but super Rewarding day! once we got to Lund we sailed almost all the way to deep bay battling heavy rain, 6 ft swells, and 15-25 knt wind! we took 1 hr stints at the helm and all got soaked! I saw a hump back fully breech out of the water and 2 swam right before the boat so close it was unnervingly amazing! rainbows and sun finally as we were 3 miles from deep bay. dinner at seas and shores restaurant.

finally sailing! after scavaging the beach at teak and finding otter skull, we took to the wind back to civilization landing at refuge cove. enjoyed the restaurant and relaxed on the dock in the sun cuz there was no where to swim or walk. rustic general store, little library and yeti store

Ellis Creek to Refuge Cove, Canada
3 attempts to stern tie and anchor but third time was a charm! we dinghy'd over to the falls and had the most amazing time massage under the cassell waterfall. we hiked up to cassell lake where it was so peaceful. fun night of card against humanity and tunes

Berg Creek to Teakerne Arm Park, Canada
another day of no wind but I took us to the end of the inlet. we saw humpbacks and 3 of 8 waterfalls running. turquoise blue water surrounded by mountain and sheer cliff faces. we snuck into brem river but didn't see any bears nor elk. after an 8 hours day I docked us back at toba marina.

woke up to overcast morning but still no rain! no wind either😥 took off to toba thru false pass with no trouble. sam the seal has followed along. we got sunny skies with lunch @ channel island rafting up to Phoenix (Jack's boat) toba wilderness marina is beautiful!

Coastal Waters Of Southeast Alaska And British Columbia to Channel Island, Canada
woke up at jacks boat Phoenix aground due to a dragging anchor and tide lower than expected. Jack stood on the bow to get her back in and it worked. we took off for pendrell sound and arrived early! did my first stern tie both at the helm then jumping on the boat and tying off to a tree. fun times swimming in 23+ ocean water and listening to music onto the evening!
