Started with 18 gusting 25 NW wind sea state 1 -2. One then 2 reefs. Very dense shipping lanes, had to negotiate crossing on VHF. Wind then dropped away nearing Isle of White and motor sailed last 3 hours

Skipper for this trip. Unfortunately very little wind. Glassy sea - ended up motoring the whole way. Very dense shipping lanes some weaving and negotiating to cross the west to east lane particularly. Sunny day on way into harbour. Dinner in Cherbourg then left at 5:30 for journey back to Solent
