Grew up sailing in Hong Kong racing out of RHKYC. Moved back to Australia in 1997. Life member of the Royal Hong Kong and now member and sail out of the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron

Wind started at 20 to 23 fading to 10 to 15. 2m swell down to 1m slop Came in to pick up some necessary supplies. Might stay for an extra day to let the sea settle

Coastal Waters Of Great Barrier Reef to Mackay Harbour, Australia

Keswick Island to Refuge Bay, Australia
Nice sail with someone to race 😁 (They definitely knew we were racing) Until the combination of current, sea state and wind direction had us almost heading north again so the motor went on. Very frustrating

Cumberland Islands to Keswick Island, Australia
All stocked up again with provisions and full tanks ready to start making our way south. Just a little jump over to Sid Harbour (much prettier than I expected) to do the walk to the monolith in the cool early tomorrow morning before sailing down to Goldsmith with the tide

Perfect day for a sail but we had to keep the boat flat while running the engine to assist the water maker. I don’t like making water in an anchorage with other boats or in murky waters which Airlie often is.

Cockatoo Point to Airlie Beach, Australia
Light winds and flat seas made for perfect conditions for sun sight practice with the sextant. Very relaxed trip holding course for a sun run sun ☀️😁

Nice sailing until the wind faded out at about 1000. It came back up just as we moored of course 😄. There was a plague of boats descending on Blue Pearl Bay as we came in and it was already pretty full so we went over to Stonehaven for an easy departure in the morning
