Calm and sunny. Very different from yesterday with 20-25 my gusts of cold wind. Stern-tied in Laura Covr (Broughton Island).

Left Goat Islets with cloudy skies bound for Health Bay but we decided to check out the edge of Queen Charlotte sound by winding our way through passages. Once out we had enough wind to sail on a beam to broad reach gybing 2-3 times before the wind died. Motored into Health Bay but the NW had picked up again and was funnelled into the bay. As well the prime spot had several crab pots making it hard to anchor. We headed for Waddington Bay and anchored there - still 15+ knot gusts.

Easy passage through Beware Passage. Some currents so need to be aware. Made way to Goat Islets/Crease Island anchorage. Only boat there. Anchored in the inner bay 25’ after adding 7’ more of tide. Hooked right away. Beautiful little anchorage with views S and E of mountains. Just as we anchored we could hear a wolf howling. Also owls and herons.

Left Forward Harbojr @04:50 as Johnstone Strait was supposed to blow. 1-2 foot waves until Port Neville then wind NW 8-10 kts and relatively calm. Took Chatham Channel about 40 mins after slack. Could make 3.8 kts in narrow portion but no problem to transit.

Hit Greene Point rapids at TTE. Still had current against us almost all the way to Wellbore Channel. Hit Whirlpool Rapids about 1 pm near max flow. Smooth water some small eddies and whirlpools downstream of the light.
