Raced in my twenties and thirties, did what I was told and knew nothing about sailing but loved the rush of the her heeling and speeding through the wind! Now retired, bought a 23’ Merit Sprint and been dreaming of costal cruising. Active in NauticEd and SailTies. Two awesome resources.

After a chilly night sleeping on a double moored spot we woke for coffee and some boat chores. Broke out the water maker in the cockpit and made a ton of water. The Capt and Cody (1st mate) swam over to Amazing Grace to check her out (“we will be gone for 10). An hour later we set sail to our marina. Great wind, close haul to close reach, ripping across the bay. Got her up to 10.2 knots. Docked her, some more last minute stuff, slept on her then off to the PV airport. Great sail. 265 miles ⚓️⛵️

Left Isla Isabela in the afternoon with a long journey ahead to Yelapa. Sailed until the sun went down, then motored (some sail) throughout the night. 2 hr watches. Saw the sunset, moon rise and set, glowing dolphins and the sunrise. Really cool

An early start so we could make it to Isla. Motor sailed for a bit, then caught some great wind, went full main and headsail and had Encore pushing 10Knts!! Saw a vessel way ahead of us, caught and passed her! Got the best parking spot in Isla. Capt Zack k owns best. Young guys dove the anchor then did some snorkeling! Food has been amazing. Best overnight oats ever and a scrumptious steaks taco salad. Tomorrow we explore Isla then head to home on an overnight passage. Taking 2 hr watches.

Overnight was well protected, great sleep. Got up, plotted some waypoints with Capt Z then entered them into our chart plotter. Picked up the anchor and had a quick sail to San Blas. Both sail and motor sailed. Dinghy out onto the beach. Real cool place had some cerviche and cervazas. Back to the boat for another amazing dinner. Seafood soup. Up early tomorrow to voyage to the Jurassic Park of Mx, Isla Isabelle!!

Day 2- nite was good, great dinner and good company, learning about each other🤪Had a great breakfast from Capt Z. Dude has mad culinary skills!! Eggs, chorizo, sauté veggies and avocados. Set off to the north, heading to Isla de Isabelle (look it up on you tube!!). A decent sail but by the end had to motor sail. Caught three nice size fish, had another poke bowl for lunch and got to our anchorage 5pm. Dinner and Capt’s hour coming up🤪
