Nice weather at first. A pop up rain cell shut us down early. Phone battery died so don’t have full track.

Spirited sailing. First half of the day was easy 15kts of breeze until part way up the channel. Then gusting to 30kts at times. Practiced reefing, heave-to, MOB, what to do when the boat forces you to round. All in a great finish to ASA 104.

Practiced fixing our position and planning a route down the channel out to moody gardens. Nice easy motor sail.

Failed to secure anchor in high winds at night. Decided to play safe and went back to the marina. Practice nighttime nav.

At the dock, executed training for spinnaker hoist jibe and douse. On the water, - practiced helming upwind and downwind under main only to train helm and mainsail trimmed. - successfully launched kite and performed three jibes - had issues raising headsail in preparation for douse. Doused with jib halfway raised. - cleaned everything up, untangled lines and rehoisted jib without issue. - then jib halyard broke free on our last tack and skyed. - safely motored back into slip - retrieved and stowed halyard
