At the dock, executed training for spinnaker hoist jibe and douse. On the water, - practiced helming upwind and downwind under main only to train helm and mainsail trimmed. - successfully launched kite and performed three jibes - had issues raising headsail in preparation for douse. Doused with jib halfway raised. - cleaned everything up, untangled lines and rehoisted jib without issue. - then jib halyard broke free on our last tack and skyed. - safely motored back into slip - retrieved and stowed halyard

It was a spirited day for sure! Winds started around 14knots and built to 20. Just three of us onboard but Encore sailed it no problem. Full Main and the Blade.

Conditions were wonderful. Sailed between a close reach and close haul the entire Gulf part of the trip. The crew worked quite well together. Laura made delicious meals. We saw beautiful sunsets and sunrises. We gained a stowaway bird for about 1/2 the trip as well. The cruise up the ship channel was eventful. Had to dodge multiple ships and barges. And one time had to turn around because a shrimper decided to come into the channel with his nets out while two container ships come by. All in all it was a fantastic trip.

Ricky Carroll - I checked PredictWind Sunday and saw the perfect conditions. We drove back because I had to work Monday but I was jealous!

Light conditions. Rotated crew across positions. Everyone did tacks and gybes at each position. Everyone had fun and stayed safe. Storm rolled in towards end making it difficult to flake main well.
