NauticEdVery comfortable conditions, lite winds 3 - 4 ft swells. We were able to fuel up, change the oil on the main engine, exit docs done and provisioning done in 3hrs. Then shoved off well before sunset towards San Diego. Did our check-in on line then had to take a call from the Coastguard at midnight. They had questions regarding Nikolay’s documents. lol. We made a quick stop in the Police Dock, met Rosie, Nikolay’s wife. She dropped off his cold weather gear for the trip to Anacortes. They are dropping me off at Dana Point and picking up my replacement. Good trip!

Conditions were calm most of the trip. Mostly overcast all 5 days. Had a little wind after Cabo for a few hours, 18kt winds with gusts to 24kt. I worked as crew for Nikolay of SD Captains. I cooked as well as standing night & day watch and handling lines.

Great race, fun conditions. 6 to 10kt winds 3ft swells. I was trimming jib. We had 7 crew on board plus me. It was a bit crowded in the cockpit but we managed well. We ended up 5th after starting 18.6mins behind 1st boat. Almost had Pacifico at the end less than a boat length and one boat behind Chaos.

Foggy with light winds to start. Fog lifted and winds increased to 8 kts as we started second and last circuit. We started 18 minutes behind the lead boat. Coming to the finish we had passed all boats except Hunu and we were closing quickly at the final mark.
