Lomas de Palmira to Centro, La Paz, Mexico
10 to 15 most of the day. Still getting weather helm when the wind picks up.

Puerto Aventuras, Mexico

San Diego, United States to La Paz, Mexico

La Carbonera, Mexico to Caribbean Sea, Cayman Islands
Excellent sail, down wind, waves carry you and give speed, the current is no longer noticable. The cut at San Pedro was unproblematic, nothing to report.

Very nice sailing, the reef blocks the waves and the sea is smooth. It's not recommended to sail through the middle of the atol with a draft deeper than 4.5'.

Caribbean Sea, Mexico
Awful passage, squalled over and over again, rained with lightning most of the time. Between squalls the wind was dead. slow progress, glad it's over.

Ziquipal to Caribbean Sea, Mexico
Relatively easy passage, stay close to the reef and the current is not a problem. I stay outside the bay at Isla Chal as long as I can because there are lots of lobster pots to avoid inside the reef.

Caribbean Sea to Ziquipal, Mexico
Relatively easy passage, the current was strong at points and slowed me down a lot but mostly it wasn't a problem

Villa Dos to Caribbean Sea, Mexico
Gulf stream is near unbeatable, engine at 1800RPM and under full sail with 15k+ blowing, often couldn't get 1 knot. My advice to any readers is to stick very close to shore where current is less, when crossing the gulf stream, cross it perpendicular to the direction of flow.

La Carbonera to Cabaña del Pescador, Mexico
