Sailing started in 1990 with the purchase of a lightly used Cal29. I got the racing bug just after that as a member of the West Bay Yacht Club. Then the Narragansett Bay yachting association, participating with the East Greenwich Yacht Club, Newport yacht club, New York yacht club Racing is a passion from National offshore one design to Block Island race week and FAGAWI weekend. I have sailed on many peoples boats over the years. From J24 to retired America’s Cup yachts. All the time Sailing

Sporty! Issue with jib furling line conflicted with spinnaker sheet unbolting lifeline hardware due to pressure when winching and unfurling jib. Portside spinnaker sheet was rigged on the inside and incorrect. We rigged it correctly before deploying the spinnaker and fixed hardware at the dock. We had other issues too like the spinnaker caught on the radar dome - easing the spinnaker sheet fixed that, although I could’ve done that faster but afraid to be yelled at. The control line for the spinnaker sock also got stuck above while dousing.

Scavenger hunt meet sailboat racing. This one has it all from running the engine for up to 1/2 hour to picking race legs from over 50 combinations to get to the most fastest miles in 6 hours. Another 1/2 hour is added for a variable with a penalty time added to that. This is an extravaganza of racing. You must join the Twenty Hundred club it is worth it just for this race alone.
