Light downwind with big swell against the tide first half then beam reach and fair tide giving max SOG of 10kt!

Light winds to start but cold wind as it was in the North. A calm sea with long rolling waves. Sunny & dry. Motor sailed with the Genoa. Once nearing St Helier the wind picked up to 16+ knots typically.

Why is the wind always blowing from where you want to go!

We set off late as the coffee was low and everyone was tired and hungover. We needed to get over the tide to get anywhere, but we ended up betided at lower heads and I decided to turn on the motor so as to get over the sill at Carteret. All went well until we got to the marina at Carteret, when I struggled to get the boat into its berth. Otherwise a lovely trip.
