Calm seas, wind from the east or northeast, wind speed between 5 to 10 knots, gusting to 15. One day it was gusting to 20 with steady winds of 15 upwind. Completed courses ASA105 and ASA106. We practiced docking, anchoring and tying to a buoy.

10-19 knots true wind with 2-7 ft waves. Beam sail for most but also passed through many squalls, changing winds, and seemed to sail all the angles. Motored for short time. Passed through large sargassum patch and auto pilot seemed to have some trouble. Heard the starboard rudder trying to turn and had severe weather helm afterwards. Mark hand steered for a while. Mostly rested as seas were moderately rough.

Motored back to long cay watching out for coral heads. Flat and rainy conditions.

Caribbean Sea, Belize
Motored to the Blue Hole through shallow depths 6-18 feet with coral heads. 3 of us on watch on the bow to navigate through conditions. Moored on ball with boat drafting back in wind into the hole. We snorkeled the rim with lists of fish and coral. As soon as jumped in could see the hole bottom and sides, about 60+ feet. Some medium sized fish greeted us and then showed us the way. Back on the boat we grilled burgers and veggie dogs when a squall arrived changing winds from NE to SE and we had to immediately turn engines on and correct as to not hit the reef. After continuing to strongly drift into the reef with 19 knot winds and rain, we released the mooring lines in pouring rain and went to the polar opposite mooring ball. We moored, finished lunch, and motored back to Long Cay. We got stopped by the park rangers to pay $150 and told them we would go to the half moon Caye island to pay. They were not happy.

Caribbean Sea to Great Blue Hole, Belize
7-17 knots true wind and up to 30 knots of wind during a squall. We turned with the wind during that event as we heard tensioning and felt heeling. 3 ft waves coming from the fromt and corner. Motor sailed for most the trip but sailed the last hour. Anchored and there was a coral patch under the boat either lots of fish. Beautiful coral in front too.

Cay Bokel Lighthouse to Caribbean Sea, Belize
7-14 knot winds on close reach to beam sail and up to 4 feet waves head on. Uncomfortable bashing motor sail. Water maker failed again. Sargasm got lodged up starboard engine upon water inspection at anchorage. There was noticeable vibration and auto pilot was struggling. Could not work and did not feel great.

Caribbean Sea to Cay Bokel Lighthouse, Belize
7-14 knots wind on close reach sail. 2 foot waves. Had to motor for about 15 min. Water maker died and left us with critical level of water. Anchored with bokensha, phoenix rising, and stray cat 2. 2 manatees playing in water as we anchored. Immediately went to happy hour hut.

Placencia to Caribbean Sea, Belize
10-16 knot winds and 1 foot waves. Broad reach to down wind sail. Lunch on King Lewey Island with Boken Sha and Phoenix Rising was fun with great food, waterslide, and a swift snorkel back to the boat.

Caribbean Sea to Placencia, Belize
4 knot winds and motor sailed about 5 nm to have lunch with Boken sha and Rising Phoenix. Flat sea conditions.
