Good passage. We had more motoring time than we would have liked, 34 hours in 2 chunks. Some fast sailing, lots of close reaching. One afternoon with the code zero. Close hauled to finish to sail. Lost 3 lures.

Motored across the atoll navigating through boomies. We have settled in to the more protected anchorage in Penrhyn (Cook Islands) for the next week to wait out strong winds that are forecast. We are in the company of 3 friend boats, Worldwind, Phambili and Salavida.

Fast passage, 177 nautical miles first day, 173 the second day and 153 the third day. More or less a beam reach the entire way. Real sloppy conditions the second day becoming more comfortable at night. Squally and fluky winds the third day and then a beautiful crystal clear night of fast sailing in blue skies for arrival. On the final morning Steph throughout her back just spending over in the galley. S myhe is in a lot of pain. Check in process with super easy.

Overnight sail, we lost wind after sunset and had the motor about 6 hours before the wind came back. Very intimidating pass to enter the atoll but it was not an issue. The sailing we had was very good.

We motored to Riateia and picked up our full propane bottle. Once outside the pass the wind built and we had some fast downwind sailing. Winds 15-20 with gusts to 25. Cloudy day. When we arrived we grabbed a mooring ball nearMoyu Toopua.

We motored in light winds to find a comfortable anchorage. We were very happy for with our choice. Nice hike, good time with friends.

Good overnight sail. Lots of sail changes, reefs in and then out and back in. Wind died as we approached Riateia and we had to motor the last 8 miles. Stopped at boatyard to drop off propane bottle for fill. Did not like the anchorage do we left right away for a better spot.

Motored into headwinds and then sailed with genoa as we came around Moorea.

We motored in calm winds although the sea state was a bit rolly.

Very nice conditions although the wind was lighter than expected for part of the voyage. Beautiful clear skies with a full moon. Very comfortable sea state. Wind direction varied, we were close hauled overnight and deep downwindcthe next day. Arrived about an hour after sunset.
