Time at Sea
Easy morning, casual breakfast at the restaurant whose pontoon we were using. We motored out into the beautiful Ionion and after not too long had our sails up. A shortish Sail as not much wind then on to Ithaca. Wind picked back up so sails back out for a beam reach. Very very happy with the chair we rigged up for Eli, the straps wrap around the port locker and he was a happy chappy, his first time sailing with the sails up! Beautiful little bay for the evening. Easy long line, no stress and Eli had his baby life jacket on for the Dinghy rode ashore. He hates that thing 😬. Now the peaceful bay had been ruined by a kat next door with their engine on 😅🙈🙄. It’s still paradise! Easily stay tomorrow for Kastos 😊

The sailing back to Split was wonderful the definition of what you want sailing to be. Downward winds so we just had the head sail out and we were steaming along with following seas too. The whole crew was much happier not being head to wind too, the whole thing was much more relaxed Note to self: NEVER EVER stop at Split for fuel on a Friday it was chaotic in so many ways. Only one person helping at the deck, 10 boats min waiting, no queuing system so sail boats get done over by more manageable cat or motorboats it was a nightmare and couldn’t have been done without Tom will power and bow thruster. In the future must stop in Milna or just go earlier/ later Also the wind massively picked up at about 4pm which meant a lot of yelling and shouting in the marina and some fun Marina TV

Glavica to Split, Croatia
We decided to stay north of Brač to avoid some bad weather around Hvar but turns out it was pretty windy too. The forecasted gusts of 18 kts were more like 24. We kept the crew content by reefing tons and letting the main out when needed. We all remember what our first time on a leaning boat was like. The wind thankfully turned allowing us to change course o it would have taken us days to get here 😅 The bay we stopped at is windy but the sea is quiet so we should be ok 👌 We also had a storm in the evening and the restaurant Rojen nearby only has very limited space that is covered. It was great atmosphere though 🥳

A nice early morning departure from Scedro to Vis. I love leaving early as it feels like you are awake before the rest of the world 🌏. Looked like a day of motoring aka Dolphin watch 🕵️♂️🐬. Did not see a sausage tho 🌭. Wind picked up and we sailed to Vis 😍. I mis-remembered the bay Chris recommended for a swim and sailed in the wrong direction for a while. Gaia soon put us straight and we had a lovely paddle board around the bay before getting to Vis. Vis is great, especially the Kut harbour end. Got picked up by Rokis for the best Peka ever! Lovely day, ready for a sunrise slip the next morning 06:05 as it is always beautiful to see the sunrise as you sail away from Vis 😍🌅. Oh, then the dolphins came! 🐬

2 Stroke Outboard - Remember: Choke Open is normal running position! Always get something wrong with the outboard. Can’t wait for electric to be commonplace on charters :-D. Love Scedro. Cool island only reachable by yacht. A couple of families live here and the fish is amazing! 🐟. Third time here and love it every time 🥰. Especially the man who bring yours fresh croissant to your boat in the morning! 🥐😀

ACI Marina Palmizana to Karkavac - Šćedro, Croatia
We sailed off to hvar although since the mooring there can be a nightmare (no spaces) and we needed electricity we went straight for ACI Palmizana and got on with it. We arrived early and there were tons of spaces but by the time we came back at night it was packed. We had booked online. The boat kicks to port (a lot!) so I think bow thruster are a must going forward. Also the ratchet at the mast for reefing the main is a huge pain. I would never get it on a boat. Hvar is a must as per usual, very beautiful place with great atmosphere.

A great start! Check in quick and easy with Sail-Croatia. Really looking forward to this trip as it is my wife, her mum and sister. Me and Gaia have sailed before but a first for everyone else which I love because you get to see them experience everything about sailing for the first time 🥰. We headed out. A bit choppy and some good wind to start so we got some tacking practice in! 📝 Some joker had adjusted the Wind thing on the instruments to be -121 degrees. Made things a little confusing but 30 minutes going through all the settings fixed that 😂 Wind does off so motored to a bay on Brac which is a favourite of mine, the water is so clear and lovely to swim in. I think it will be a chilled week with shorter distances. The gang are keen on Hvar tomorrow so will be heading over after a morning swim and spending the day exploring :-).
