Rather light winds on the way out and almost no winds on the way back and we motored on the way back

French Village, Canada
Not a bad sail today - the wind was from a good direction: ESE, but was not very strong. In the harbour it was a bit slow but it picked up quite a bit out in the bay and made for a fun sail. On the way back in it was pretty slow going so I took down the sails and motored the rest of the way in.

The wind was SWbW and very gusty and unpredictable. It was strange. It seemed fairly calm at the mooring some of the time. When I got out into the harbour there were places where it was very windy and other places where there was no wind at all. It was very odd. The gusts made for a not particularly fun trip so I cut it short.

Today was a brisk sail with gusty wind of 8 knots and above. The direction was East-South-East and this was ok for heading out of French Village Harbour but a chore to get back in. Every sailing trip is a good one but this was definitely one of the lower ranking ones.

NNW wind today, making for a great sail on St. Margaret's Bay

The wind today was the heaviest I've sailed in since I took up sailing in 2022. This is the first season I've had the McVay Minuet and it handles so much better than the Precision 18 - it gives me much greater confidence.

Wind was predicted to be light but as often happens, it turned out to be a pretty brisk today on St. Margaret's Bay. Took the longest voyage to date, almost getting to Queensland Beach, which is on the other side of the bay from my mooring.

Although the PredictWind app predicted 6 knots, it was actually between 8 & 10 knots on St. Margaret's Bay and perhaps even higher. Still enjoyed a great sail and covered the most distance in one trip to date. It was manageable and lots of fun. I noticed 2 sailboats near Black Point that had more than 2 sails, not sure what type of boat. I posted a picture - unfortunately, it is not the best quality because I was not able to get very close to it.

It was a good sail today. This is the farthest I have sailed from my mooring. There was good wind out on the bay. There was some considerable swell. Very enjoyable and fun sail.
