7/8 knot speed consistently under sails some 3-5’ waves coming off the HSC northbound from southbound freighters. Finished MOB drills and played with sails in the bay between taking tests

Started the morning helping with a mayday call after breakfast. Towed a boat out of the HSC by marker 59. Motored down to Galveston ship basin for lunch and a test and made our way through the ICW and docked at moody gardens in Offits bayou for the night

Brisk and spirited day on the bay. Winds 15-17 knots with 25 knot gusts

Weather was perfect. 6-8kn in the morning and 10-14 in the afternoon. Performed all the maneuvers, tacking, jibing, more tacking. The crew and experience was amazing.

At the dock, executed training for spinnaker hoist jibe and douse. On the water, - practiced helming upwind and downwind under main only to train helm and mainsail trimmed. - successfully launched kite and performed three jibes - had issues raising headsail in preparation for douse. Doused with jib halfway raised. - cleaned everything up, untangled lines and rehoisted jib without issue. - then jib halyard broke free on our last tack and skyed. - safely motored back into slip - retrieved and stowed halyard
