A complete newbie who had a mid life crisis (at 58), cashed in pension and purchased a Westerly 41ft yacht currently on a swinging mooring at Portsmouth. Working on day skipper theory and have done sea survival/off-shore safety. I have a great respect for the sea and the weather but feel drawn to the beauty and power. How amazing to use nature’s resources to travel. I will work hard for you if you choose me as crew and can offer my yacht for trips too!

Richard Dyson - Thanks everyone — Tim and Edwin especially — for an unforgettable day. I enjoyed every second, and learned a LOT. (Mainly about how powerful the wind is! And also the incredible technology of the boat to harness it. Loved the tacking…) Sailing is far more of a feat than I had ever imagined. Thank you all for a great introductory experience. Happy sailing.
