What an incredible afternoon on the water! Sunny, a perfect 70-degree temp, and the gorgeous view upriver of Mount Hood. Not to mention wind at roughly 10 gusting to 20+ knots, changing direction and speed about every 30 seconds. So much fun, including some wonderful heels and tacking back with a partially-furled jib to mitigate some of the heavier gusts. Thank you so much, Leticia, Michelle, and Julie, for including me today! Now I shall sleep for approximately a day and a half.

Lindy Thibodaux - Indeed! Almost sounds like an understatement!

Carolyn Morse - It won’t let me join on your yours because I’m already on crew on this voyage from Berry. I thought I could accept both. Oops.

Such a gorgeous day on the water, made even better with these wonderful OWSA ladies! (Oregon Women’s Sailing Association.)

Lindy Thibodaux - Pretty sure that’s the least wind I’ve seen on the river this year— but it was really fun anyway. We missed you! Hope your move is progressing smoothly.

When we were getting ready to take out a new Island Sailing Club boat, we had an unplanned lesson on batteries, fortunately before we left the dock. Out on the river, it was more wing-on-wing action to go with the winged keel on Leucothea, as we maneuvered around a huge barge. It was a great day to be out, despite the additional excitement (??) of my phone slipping overboard— a first for me, hopefully the last (knock on teak). Hence this semi-accurate manual entry— I was the one recording our sail.
