Long day with the kids. Wind shifted a bit forcing us to tack more on the way back than expected.

Public Landing, Canada
All conditions today. We had to motor sail a few times when the wind dropped under 4 knots. Late afternoon we had to reef both sails when the wind jumped to 21 knots. Lots of practice at the helm and crewing.

False Passage to Squirrel Cove, Canada
22 kt winds and we had to beat up the wind to exit the bay. It meant an intense first introduction to sailing a keel boat. The boat had a rolling fuller in the mast, so reefing was managed in the cockpit, except when it jammed! We took turns at the helm and crewing on the sheets. The sails were most trimmed for close hulled sailing, but we did get a short chance to sail on a beam reach.
