Keen Westerly owner and the current Channel Islands Representative for the Westerly Owners Association. I’ve owned my Westerly Merlin Layabout since 2020 and enjoy cruising around the Channel Islands and the north coast of Brittany. I first took up sailing in 2014 through keelboat racing, but soon discovered that cruising was much more my style. There’s nothing better than exploring new harbours and enjoying a relaxed passage under sail.

F3 NE/E wind. Wind totally died down to F1 around 2 hours from St Cast. Lots of Dolphins!

Flat calm… Wind picked up to 10 knots Motor sailed all the way back 35 degrees! 2 pods of dolphins along the way

Sailed back with Arassay another Merlin. No wind so it was engines all the way with tide against us for the first 2 hours.

No wind to the violet… Wind on nose up violet channel 1 hour out of Carteret enough wind to sail
