Novice big boat sailor

Plymouth to Torquay, United Kingdom
A relaxing ride out despite a tear in the jib left just with the main to sail down with no other main.

Flushing to Plymouth, United Kingdom
15 knots of wind in our face added an extra 10 miles to the journey but the Lizard made for an exciting bumpy ride. David docked us impeccably and helped fix the foot of the sail. Almost to the last leg of the journey.

Penzance to Flushing, United Kingdom
The wind died, David fed the fishes, we ran the halyard to the back of the mast and yet still it was a great day. We had some wind as we came around lands end, but we missed the wall closing for Penzance and had to dock in Newlyn which had a more local fisherman’s charm to it.

Padstow to Penzance, United Kingdom
After two days in Wales for a low pressure storm that kept me from moving forward, David took the long journey to meet me. He was rewarded with a 3:30am start and a breakfast that he returned to the fishes. Since Tilman wasn’t there to hold his ancle, he somehow protected himself by inflating his life vest and getting stuck. The sail had the wind to our back and quite large swells from the remnants of the storm, but the didn’t lead to the biggest accidental jibe, that was in pulling down the sail which got stuck and David released the main sail instead of the Halyard with myself attached. Such an adventure, so much fun, always a laugh when David comes. Rick Steins for dinner is the bonus on top!
