
Winds were out of the South West at 10kts building to 18kts departing Sambro. Upon rounding Chebucto winds calmed to under 3kts, building again past Meagher's beach. Seas were relatively calm, with our largest sea state departing Sambro Harbour with waves approx. 1m on height.

Sambro to Burnside, Canada
Departed East River with cool but calm conditions. Winds departing Mahone Bay were 7kts building to 15kts from the south east. Isola Naida sailed windward for the duration of the trip. Due to time restraints, the decision was made to attempt to sail to Lower Prospect before dark. Shortly after starting the engine, the engine sputtered off and was unable to be restarted. We issues a PAN PAN radio call resulting in the CCGS Mira Bay being dispatched from Sambro Harbour to tow is alongside Sambro. Further investigation would reveal that the engine sputtering was caused by Diesel Bug.

Light winds and seas. Standing rigging was not properly tuned before departing so we motored the entirety of the trip.

Shaw Island to East River Point, Canada
Weather was clear and sunny, winds were under 5kts all morning. Isola Naida motored the 9NM from South Shore Marine to East River Shipyard.

Marvins Island to East River Point, Canada
Leaving the mooring, winds were under 5kts. We stayed under power until making our way past Frog Island. Though winds had already picked up to near 8kts, our course pointed us into irons. Winds increased gradually to 16kts, gusting to 18kts. Return trip was downwind sailing being chased by waves.

Marvins Island, Canada
Weather was sunny, mid-to-high 20's, winds from the south 7kts building to 13kts, gusts 8kts building to 16kts. Waves were 0 - .5m with some small ocean swells near the southern point of our course. Isola Naida hoisted sails shortly after departing the marina. We dropped the main just north of Frog Island, sailing jib and jigger the rest of the course.

Winds forecasted from 335⁰ at 8kts slowing to 6kts, gusts of 20kts slowing to 16kts. We departed our Mooring after lunch on board and motored South hosting canvas near Mu53. Gusts were more sustained than expected between marks Ma57 andMc59. We decided to haul down our sails and motor back toward the marina.
