Ta’ Xbiex, Malta to Premià de Mar, Spain

Sydney Rock
Oyster 595
John Bronger flew home from Malta. John Bridges (shorestore boatyard) joined Paul and Katy to help with the Interesting passage, limited weather windows for moving the boat big distances in the Mediterranean this time of year so we did well. Boat now almost dried out forward cabin (leaking through big window moulding edges) . First 2 days wind 25knots on the nose, was only supposed to be F4 for 12-18 hours before veering. especially departing post storm Malta and arriving pre storms Premia de Mar (near Barcelona). Handling uninvited guests on the water was recieved with a well done by the Gagliari coastguard. They stayed for about 10 minutes trying to offload onto us to take them to Italy. They had a fast motor boat, all onboard ok (maybe from Algeria/Tunisia) and only 25 miles from Sardinia. Told them if they needed assistance coastguard informed of their position. After this they went at speed 030 degrees towards the Sardinia coast. No reply from Menorca on reporting the empty small dory. Priority now supporting/preparing SR for and agreeing work package with Oyster. SR for sale but at a high price so I think another year. Paul and Katy home for Xmas and new year, for now living Sydney Rock Premia de Mar if anyone visiting Barcelona.
