Winds SE, wind speed was up and down between 8-13. Close hauled the whole race. Managed boat balance by letting main out during periods of being over powered. Most of fleet was on east side of the course. We were off to the west of the fleet but still on east edge of shipping channel. Other strategy; could have had all sails in and manage heavier air by pinching. Leaving main under trimmed likely hurt our ability to point and sail more directly to the mark. However, would have been a little slower. We were getting great boat speed with our strategy.
