Lucky Enough
Privilege 650
Here’s a smoother version that keeps your fun, excited tone: Sea trials started off with a bang! 😳 First challenge: maneuvering Lucky Enough out of a VERY tight space in 20-knot winds. We finally made it out of the slip… only to find about 30 swimmers directly ahead of us doing an “emergency/safety training” exercise. For some strange reason, they chose the tiny space between two docks—right in the middle of the channel—to do it. 🤦♀️ We had literally about half a meter of clearance on either side to get through and ended up having to reverse to avoid running into them. Safety first!! 😂 Once we made it out, the real fun began! ⛵️ 💨 ~22 knots of wind with gusts up to 35 knots ⛵️ Main at first reef + Genoa 🚀 12.9+ knots of boat speed 🌊 Messy 3-meter seas with a 2-second period SPORTY! 😳😂 Huge thanks to Alex and Antoine for skippering the sail and putting Lucky Enough through her paces. What a way to kick off sea trials! I’d keep “SPORTY!” — it somehow says everything. 😂
