Our fourth practice with tacking and jibing motion is getting much smoother in the cockpit but lots more to learn. Conditions were perfect. No wildlife siding unfortunately. That’s probably just as well so we don’t get distracted.

Practice number four with tacking and diving with the whisper pole doing very well. The choreography is coming down better good de- briefing with the skipper very helpful We worked with very light winds today, which we think may be close to what we are going to have in San Diego for the race

This was our second practice out in Athena getting the feel of a 22 foot boat. We practiced rolling tax and tax in general as well as jibing with the whisper pole. Very productive session.

Today was the first day that laura and Diana and I went out to practice in preparation for the women’s winter invitational in San Diego. We practice tacking jibing and sales trim while the whales converted about including a young humpback whale that actually jumped out of the water. Absolutely perfect condition and we learned a lot, especially the choreography needed to make fast and efficient tax. Dan came along just to help out since our fourth crewmember. Mandy is in San Diego right now. We also changed the head sale on cutlass to a smaller Genoa to more closely mimic the J 22’s. We’re going to be using in the race. It was a real learning experience, changing out the sail.

Would an absolutely gorgeous day to go sailing! The swells were very moderate and the wind was very good getting us up to 7 kn of speed at times. Between Laura and Bobby the sale trim was incredible and we literally passed all the other boats up. As we were the lowest rated, we did very well and ended up winning first place in the chatter cup series. There were unfortunately no whales or other sea life that were spectacular on this trip. We were able to soak up the sun and have some good time chatting while we were working the sales. Lots of water, fights, and marshmallow guns were deployed on this trip.

It was an overcast day but great sailing conditions. Generally we were sailing over 5 knots and a great deal of heeling. Once we rounded ML1 we set up the spinnaker which worked very well. Both the boat and the skipper had not done this before. It was a first for me as well. Such quiet speed! Great crew at hand. Lots of boats out for the race. Not much wildlife though

Sees were pretty calm with consistent winds. We ran at usually over 6 kn an hour no wildlife really spotted but the whole race was very clean and we came in second.

Nice calm, calm seas with good 15 wins got to max 6.2 kn and covered assistance on the race fairly well. All in all it was a beautiful sale, although not much wildlife other than lots of pelicans. Largely overcast day and kind of chilly. Crew was Diana and Dan Garrett and Jared Perez. All wonderful folks did very well.

Beautiful blue skies, but very brisk winds with lots of gusts and swells to 78 feet. Made good time and had a wonderful day out no Wildlife other than lots of pelican and dead sardines in the wharf.
